How can a creative practice help us to meet what Rilke named the “dark hours of our being?” How can we participate in a more self-compassionate creative practice?
wow, thank you - I discovered John Roedel's poetry when I really needed it (I still do) - I had no idea he was a comedian (I'm looking forward to discovering that) but he truly is an exceptional person.
That was a great interview! I am thrilled every time I read and hear people using the healing power of poetry! I am even more thrilled when men do it. It must take a lot of courage for them to take the macho mask off and share their deep emotions! Kudos to you John!

Exceptional indeed! And yet, what I love about his story is how clearly he shares that this path of writing is so available to all of us!
So so HONEST , realistic and deep! An exceptional ,brilliant man..... Thank you Rosemerry and Christie for such a thought provoking interview!!

Thanks, Joanne! Yes, it's the realism that gets me, too--
If not realistic what are you? I appreciate realism as it says a great deal about the person's knowledge and overall mental health and confidence!!

I agree--it was thrilling, full body thrilling, to hear this story of what happens when we show up with a pen in our hands and a blank ...
